This is a recombinant video piece reworking the David Fincher directed Fight Club, based on the Chuck Palahniuk novel of the same name. The movie has been broken down and recombined into a short series of musical pieces and new(ly recombined) voice over narration segments speaking about the very destruction of narrative to serve the sounds and music the piece creates (self-reflexive to the extreme, I know).
Made entirely from the raw source audio/video, it was made through painstaking cut and paste editing, with no alterations other than recutting and opacity changes on layers and perhaps a volume tweak here and there to make the quieter sounds sing with the loud ones.
All original content of course is the intellectual property of 20th Century Fox, David Fincher and Chuck Palahniuk respectively, to be considered in this piece substantially transformative enough to be considered as fair use. Here's hoping for no lawsuits.
