TASK #1 for Service Design Xmas aka #SDXmas: MINDMAPPING
Service design is used to improve or create better services. It can transform environments, enhance communication or improve experiences. Christmas in London it's an extraordinary experience itself, with many levels of interaction and a great concentration of specific needs and related services. This course is meant as a practical introduction to the field of service design and will provide tools and methods to designing services. The course will suit non-designers working in service industries, retail, customer service as well as creative professionals looking to move into this emerging discipline. Service designers use people-centred approaches and co-design methods to create meaningful user experiences and deliver effective and sustainable solutions.
You will be working in small teams engaging with practice based activities developing new Christmas related services for some London hot-spots such as Covent Garden, Oxford Street and Notting Hill. Visiting service design practitioners from leading London based agencies will share their professional experience with the course participants providing mentoring support and workshops. In the past years we invited practitioners from thinkpublic, live work, Participle, Engine, Uscreate, FutureGov, Sidekick Studios, Claro Partners, the Helen Hamlyn Centre and Design Against Crime Research Centre.
