A Mellow Monk tea buyer traveling to the island of Kyushu, Japan, was accompanied by a film crew from Europe's Arte.tv network. The crew filmed a 1-hour episode for the documentary series "Geo 360." In this opening segment, we meet the Watanabe family, who run an artisan tea estate in the breathtakingly beautiful of Kuma district of Kumamoto Prefecture. It's harvest time, when each day is a race against the clock to harvest leaves and craft them into tea quickly, to seal in the natural flavor and aroma. Yet the Watanabes never forget the joy of farming or their gratitude toward the tea plants that support their livelihood.
