On a small farm in rural Maryland, a burgeoning new technique in physical therapy is rapidly gaining admirers. The Loving Kind takes you there to discover the wonders of hippotherapy; a once experimental, but increasingly mainstream form of therapy involving horses.
We meet the owner of the farm and her tireless staff of handlers and therapists, as well as some very special patients who have made tremendous strides both physically and mentally. We meet a doctor specializing in child degenerative diseases who firmly supports the advent of hippo therapy, and we talk to a member of the Veteran's Administration to see how this particular therapy has been used effectively with our veterans from Iraq and Afghanistan.
The Loving Kind is a simple and moving story of horses helping people in need and the many lives that are affected.
