In this webinar, ASERL librarians provide overviews and opinions of several new models for providing open access to scholarly monographs, including Knowledge Unlatched, OpenEdition Freemium, Unglue.it, and Amherst College Press. Each reviewer discusses the content offered, including breadth of coverage, quality and reputation of publishers or authors; the platform used for access – software required, ease of use, multi-user licensing, etc.; the cost for participation – not just the dollars charged but the value in relation to the benefits of participation; their opinions about the sustainability of model, and any other pros or cons about the model they find noteworthy. ASERL's Visiting Program Officer Christine Fruin moderated the discussion.
