Moriah Peters launched her I am Second film this past year and decided to partner with e3Partners & I am Second to go on expedition to Amazon Peru. I had the privilege of traveling alongside her, documenting her experience. Our ten day excursion turned out to be an absolute whirlwind – we experienced everything from living in the jungle to riding on a moto taxi. The most glorious of all our experiences was learning to embrace God taking control of our plans each day, letting go of our schedules. Sometimes that meant playing soccer with the boys, or singing a song with a an elderly woman who welcomed us into her home. For Moriah, it was second nature to hang out with the young girls of Gruau and tell them her love story, while sharing truth about how valuable and precious they are to God – made on purpose for a purpose, no mistakes. Approaching our days with The Gospel on our minds, villages to travel to, and river boats to take us there – the Amazon was definitely a beautiful escape from our normal Western fast paced culture. In addition to our jungle adventures, we also spent part of our trip in Iquitos, Peru (a nearby city), partnering with a local church to put on a concert and daily music workshops.
