This paper investigates the manifold potentials of paradromic ("running alongside") sonic practices which take advantage of temporal leakages induced by chronoportative modes typical of late capitalist musico-affective predation. The transition from earworm-slogans to brand-passwords is symptomatic of a heightened propensity towards the arresting of time, indispensable for effective capture in an era where colloidal electrification schizophonically distributes convulsively recombinant signals, multiplying vectors of contamination. A surfeit of cybernetically circulated affect engenders a concomitant profusion of molar, primed, cyber-affordant synchronicities from which can be ferreted out more intransigent, latent, molecular synchronicities. Indeed, a molecular, parasitic listening process may hold the key, detecting continuities occluded by the parcelization of time stealthily prosecuted by the möbius modality—ferrying a creeping normalization of micro-strategies of control—by isolating accidents, discrepancies, vagrant concretions that might be productively exploited.
Algorithmically-fueled, networked technologies can accelerate ejection from the tight, noise-absorbent negative feedback of capitalist modulation, by kairotically deploying psychedelic ("made manifest to the mind") adjacencies, instantiating temporary musical agglomerations by haphazard temporal and spatial proximities. The distracted attention (usually negatively valenced) which characterizes the perceptual landscape of the 21st century enables new, unsuspected entities to spring into effectiveness, through a form of niching, the mutual imbrication, folding-in of elements whose genetic structures are subliminally compatible but overtly incongruent. A mutant rhythmanalysis, simultaneously fracturing and resynthesizing, can pressure memory retention, dislocate bodily time from clock time, preempt the normalization cycle by introducing figures into a not-yet-primed ground, leveraging music's occult proclivities to induce leakage of an unadumbrated future.
