Video Project for my Emerging Media class at University of Texas at Dallas.
We could pick any topic we want and were told to make a narrative then a video to go along. I chose the topic of how the digital age is affecting the people I see around me. The education in America is going down, less people read books than ever before in our history and our interactions are becoming more and more reliant on the virtual. Everyday, I see other students interested in only what they see on their Twitter or Facebook than anything on the news or going on in the real world. I see other students watching endless ours of videos on the internet instead of reading. Sitting around each other on a device instead of interacting.
I wanted to contrast this digital age with a nostalgic look on our past. So I interlaced some footage my family has from the 60's with footage taken for today. Additionally, with the old film, I recorded some books and records to also represent a time gone past and things that we have shifted away from.
