IN2WACO is an interactive inflatable wall covering for pubs, clubs and (lounge) bars. It can perceive an
external event, the crowdedness or music style in the specific pub, club or bar, and communicates this to people who are passing by. IN2WACO is communicating information about the external event by changing behavior. Its behavior is visualized by inflating and deflating air cushions. The movement and direction it communicates will trigger people to go inside. It may even direct people not to go in when it is too crowded.
When nobody is near IN2WACO it will still show a behavior. It will only show the external event. This could be
the BPM (beats per minute) or the smoothness of the music and it could show the crowdedness by how many of the air cushions are inflating. When somebody is coming closer to IN2WACO it will still show this behavior but it will also be guiding you in the direction of the door.
IN2WACO could be hanging next to the entrance of the door so that people already can see how crowded it is or what type of music is playing. This is often not possible, especially for clubs, because they have no windows by which you can take a peek. IN2WACO could also be placed on a wall around the corner to trigger people to go around the corner and get inside.
Where the final prototype of IN2WACO uses a compressor, multiple valves and splitter pieces the real product
could make use of an air pump that works according the diaphragm principle. Every air cushion can be controlled by and individual diaphragm pump separately. In this way and any pattern can be programmed and any shape and dimension is possible.
