RAISE THE ROOF Appeal
Rebuilding schools for children in the Philippines
We are asking schools and the public to help us to make a difference to the lives of children affected by the recent typhoon disaster in the Philippines.
Communities and infrastructure in the areas affected by the disaster have suffered severe damage. Many hundreds of schools are badly damaged, their roofs destroyed or severely damaged.
Tens of thousands of children are unable to return to school until their school buildings and roofs are repaired. Shelter for Humanity volunteers have already repaired and replaced roofs on buildings at two schools, allowing over 2,000 children to return to their studies. There are many schools in the Philippines which are badly damaged and with your help we can repair many of them and get children back into education where they can regain some sense of normality.
For every £10 raised we will be able to repair or replace one square metre of school roof.
£5,000 enables us to replace a complete 500 square metre school roof and provide teaching materials and consumables for the teachers and children that would allow thousands of children to get back to school.
Please help us to help the children in the Philippines by visiting shelterfor.org or call 01326 368698 and donating any amount you can.
