In Flanders there are about 450.000 oil tanks, used for the heating of houses. According to recent studies and estimations, at this moment about 10% of these tanks are leaking, mostly due to corrosion. These leaking tanks cause soil and groundwater pollution.
The Farming Pollution system facilitates three different stages: liquid heating oil recovery, absorption filters and phytoremediation. Phytoremediation is a technology that uses plants and microorganism to clean up polluted areas.
Farming Pollution System can offer a more affordable, aesthetic and satisfactory way to clean up soil contamination not only in residential areas but also in larger areas by combining the expertise of designers, scientists and urban planners.
