Melanie Cobb, Ph.D., who served as Dean of the UT Southwestern Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences from 2003 until 2010, presents the October 20, 2009, President’s Lecture. Dr. Cobb, Professor of Pharmacology and a member of the National Academy of Sciences, discusses her research on a group of molecules called MAP kinases, which help control many functions in cells and provides potential new targets for drug development.
