Technology for senior citizens is usually a touchy issue. Most people over 65 usually find a way NOT to go near any new hi-tech gizmos, especially mobile phones and the Internet. But a school in Japan is trying to change all that.
Training courses for seniors to use smart-phones are on the rise in Japan, as a growing number of seniors snap up the gadgets to stay in touch with families and friends. The Smart-phone School has attracted more than 3-hundred seniors so far this year. 90 percent of them are over 65 and take two-hour training courses. The courses, which cost around 29 US dollars, teach basic smart-phone operation skills, including text entry and music playing.
