ZAKEE releases short film "Tippin" ahead of his upcoming project, Rise of the Rebels: ASSIMILATIONS
Zakee returns with his latest visual for the single “Tippin” ahead of his forthcoming sophomore LP Rise Of The Rebels: Assimilations, due this Spring. A short film and musical journey through Colombia, South America, Tippin features children from Tierra Bomba, an island off the coast of Cartagena inhabited by descendants of enslaved Africans. While "Tippin" tackles heavy subjects such as addiction, injustice and love, the short film serves as a message of empowerment. Zakee says:
"Tippin describes moments in my life where I almost reached a breaking point. I wanted to contrast that imagery with messages of empowerment that would hopefully resonate with people with similar challenges, even The Tierra Bomba Boys. Tippin, gives a glimpse of the people of Tierra Bomba, with strong visuals of their real lives, work and struggles."
Zakee was inspired to shoot Tippin when he met the kids of the island who are tackling the island waste management issues, with sustainable solutions. To support this work, Zakee and the Twelve Bit Media team are planning to build Tierra Bomba's first eco-friendly community center & school.
