The three videos in this series are meant to be viewed as a triptych (alongside one another). They are an exploration of texture and abstraction through images of clothing and skin, since they are incredibly evocative. I was largely inspired by the aesthetics of Robert Mapplethorpe.
No.1 - Head
No.2 - Skin
No.3 - Textile
More about this project:
We are a mind, a body beneath a netting of skin and a heap of clothing. Our bodies are an extension of our thoughts. Our skin is cloaked beneath a layer of clothing. Our mind expresses itself through what we wear. Nothing is quite as evocative as the imagery of skin and fabric. Something as simple as goose bumps can have many different meanings. A scar or a bruise can tell a million stories. Fur symbolizes warmth and luxury. A white t-shirt is a synonym for simplicity. By juxtaposing images of textile and skin, we can interpret what we see for ourselves.
