After summiting at Indiana Pass, it was all downhill for 25 miles to bike friendly Del Norte and the oasis known as Organic Peddler / Peace of Art Cafe. Things got tough after that. Long dry miles of climbing to Carneros Pass and a beautiful campsite made for a short day, followed by a long dry day over Cochetopa Pass to rest and refuel at the Tomichi Creek Trading Post in Sargents. The next day was uncomplicated ... a four hour climb up and over Marshall Pass and a one hour descent to Salida.
