This is my cover rendition of Bruno Mar's song ballad, 'When I Was Your Man' from the album 'Unorthodox Jukebox'.

What can I say about this song? I had no idea who Bruno Mars was when I first heard it on the radio on my late morning commute to work. Seeing as how the stations that are available on FM radio that I tune to (just to have something playing in the background) are usually the run of the mill, modern pop sounding stuff, when this song came on it immediately stood out to me and grabbed my attention. One piano, one voice. Nothing artifical. Greatness in simplicity. I loved the song from beginning to end. Honestly, just about in the middle of the song, I was wondering if it was some previously, unknown, unreleased Michael Jackson track that was being unveiled to the public. I am not even joking! When I found out who it really was, it gave me a renewed hope in modern, mainstream music in that legitimate talent can still be found in musical content for massive consumption..and this is coming from someone who can definitely enjoy his pop music!

After having made a LONG array of covers on acoustic guitar, I thought it was time to finally put my electric guitar back into the foreground. To change it up some more, I also thought it would be nice to do a soft, piano ballad with more of a dirty, blues crunch tone to it. Not sure if this will be agreeable to most people, but I really feel these 2 'opposing' sounds can come together quite nicely to offer something certainly not found in the original. Let me know what you think and I hope you enjoy.
