PETER MERGENER - Te deum
BSC Music - 2003 - N.O.X. Mystica
Marie Antoinette of Austria (1755-1793), queen consort of France (1774-1792) by his marriage to King Louis XVI. His unpopularity helped increase the discredit of the monarchy in the run up to the French Revolution.
Born in Vienna on November 2, 1755 and was a daughter of Holy Roman Emperor Francis I and Empress Maria Theresa. The objective of their marriage (1770) to Louis, Dauphin (crown prince) of France, was to consolidate an alliance between this country and the Habsburg dynasty. When the Revolution broke out in 1789, Marie Antoinette was guillotined on October 16, 1793 in Paris.
