Debbie was a slow-moving storrn we encountered while on vacation at the Florida Gulf Coast in the Panhandle area. As an army of heavy clouds thundered in, rain purged relentlessly soaking everything in its path. The tide, though engorged by the additional source of liquid was steady yet you could feel the rage of the storm. The wind howled at times, as Debbie exhaled wind north by northeast. We rode the storm for as long as possible until the local firemen stopping by house-to-house encouraged vacationers to more to higher ground for safety.
