Brianna and Christian, a beautiful Australian couple, chose Marostica, a small town close to Vicenza, in Northern Italy for their wedding. Twenty-two guests flew there from Australia with them to share their wedding day; the most special guest, however, was Christian’s grandmother, who still lives in Marostica. By bringing their wedding there, she could participate to her nephew’s marriage – she was so happy about that! Of their decision to have their wedding in Vicenza, Brianna explains, “We chose to get married in Italy because we liked the idea of following Christian’s parent’s footsteps. It also made the usual one crazy wedding day last over a few weeks." The couple was located in the beautiful apartments of Villa Sesso Schiavo, and could use its amazing frescoed rooms for the getting ready. For their wedding they chose the civil rite, which took place in the beautiful town hall of Marostica: an intimate and personal celebration, with few but special guests. After the wedding, Christian and Brianna had their photos shot in the typical venues of Marostica: from the famous Piazza degli Scacchi (Chess Square) to the small roads, every detail of such an Italian town was passionately immortalized. The party continued under the cloisters of Villa Sesso Schiavo, but the guests stopped to change their outfits first – it was the end of July, and the temperature was pretty high! After dinner the party continued, among watermelons, fresh fruit and Italian wine, to finish the day at best.
Brianna and Christian chose me as their wedding photographer in Vicenza and it was a pleasure to share that day with them. Besides, the pictures of their wedding made me win the FIOF award of Wedding Photographer of the Year for 2013.
