Adventura botanica is Odd Johan Fritzøe´s last full-evening concert since recieving the Norwegian Critics´Award for Snow in 2009. In a change of scene from the icey-cold to the tropical, this is a study in the invisible laws of nature.
Almost 150 years ago, Charles Darwin surmised the existence of an insect with a proboscis long enough to pollinate the amazing Madagascar star orchid - even though none had seen such a creature. Thirty years after Darwin´s such an insect was finally discoverd : the hawk moth , or Xanthopam morganii praedicta, part whose name was given in honour of Darwins´s prediction of its existence. In the same way as Darwin studied coevolution between plants and insects, Frtitzøe´s ensembly has been inspired by the Darwin ´s theories. The quartet SPUNK has created potent noice poetry provided from five sound sculptures. Five light sculptures gives light to this dynamic scenery created by visual artist Karl Hansen.
