One of the giants among very small yet capable cameras is the Panasonic LX7. This camera came out in September of 2012 and I got mine in December of 2013. What a surprise this little powerhouse of a camera delivered.
I created this short film called “December” using only the LX7. Everything was shot in 1080 60p. Editing was done in FCPX (10.1).
I am going to sound like a Panasonic employee for a moment but I am not. The LX7 full manual controls make the camera very usable for a pro user. The LX7 features a LEICA DC VARIO-SUMMILUX F1.4-2.3 lens (with a 35mm effective focal length of 24–90mm). The visual quality provided by this little lens is quite noticeable.
Putting all the specs aside, the final edited image is what really counts. The LX7 delivers shockingly high image quality. Take a look at “December” and tell me what you think.
