"Daily Hop-stacles" was created by BerMotte Productions (Isabelle La Motte and Micah Berman) for Nikon's "Everyday Cinema Video Contest". The prompt asks contestants to submit a 2-3 minute video that turns everyday, ordinary events, into a spectacular cinematic short film. For our video, we took the simple act of drinking a beer (to relax after a stressful day at work), and highlighted behind, the scenes, how much effort is really put into producing one bottle of beer (something we normally take for granted). We filmed at Switchback Brewery in Burlington, Vermont, capturing the brewing, kegging, and bottling processes. Along with that, we attempted to capture the mood of the brewery, with all the workers enjoying what they were doing, and having a great time together on the job. Paralleled with the story of two buddies hanging out and having a good time drinking beer, this short film packs in the point of how important it is to take a moment and consider the hard work involved behind some of the simpler, more enjoyable things in life. Enjoy!
