I know it's rather late but here it finally is….
In April of 2013 I unfortunately lost my mother to a very aggressive form of Leukaemia. I wanted to do something noteworthy in the memory of my mother but had no ideas and was desperately on the search for a worthy cause. Shortly after returning from her funeral in South Africa I found out about the Ride to Conquer Cancer (RTCC) and signed up. The goal of the ride is to raise awareness and funds for the continuing search for better treatment and ultimately a cure to cancer.
Over the months of May to August I was busily trying to raise funds and do as much training as I could in preparation for the ride. Every rider had to raise a minimum of $2500 to participate. On the weekend of 17th & 18th August I took part, along with 1235 other cyclists, in the Brisbane 2013 RTCC. A staggering $4.2million was raised and donated to the Queensland Institute for Medical Research.
Thans so much to all my family and friends who supported me in this journey by generously making a donation.
