| Cycle of performance and audience interaction
Projected light on the Cloud follows the visitors who pass through the Cloud which creates the same silhouette effect in Body Landscape performance. Visitors’ interaction with light tracking becomes another performance for the visitors on the other side of the Cloud.
Body Landscape is one of the performances in the event entitled Flow Fields. During the performance, the dancers wander the gradient states of the external structure and body space. The Cloud, the suspended structure is made up of tessellated triangles sandwiched by cloth and this can be shaped into a bodily figure. The projection creates an ambiguity of a physical and virtual body figure, and blurs the perception of the actual form and illusion of the fabric surface. The surface becomes opaque or transparent by light effects. The projected light reveals the structural form that is created by the dancers’ movement or it distorts the perception of the fabric’s three-dimensional surface. In contrast, lighting in the other side of the cloud turns the surface transparent and reveals the dancers’ silhouette.
