In fall 2009 I was invited to speak at WOSU Public Media in Columbus on the topic of "the future of public media," looking at current trends and divining some lessons a traditional public broadcasting firm can use to prepare for the future. The result was "The Future is Public Service Media," in which I explain that public broadcasting, while a venerable institution, must change to serve community needs in radically new, and much more relevant, ways.
I spoke at WOSU on Friday, December 11. This is a voiceover version of that presentation, recorded with a few extra comments and modified slides about a week later. There are more links and other resources online at gravitymedium.com.
