Bavarian Forest Sound Installation II
The sound of snow falling is the only sound source for an installation that is mounted in trees above cross-country ski trails. Spectral analysis and averaging of the snowfall sounds identified their primary frequencies. The installation presents a composition created from these sounds and distributed in a 5-channel sound field that spans over 35,000 square feet of the forest.
Presented by the Berghof Gibacht, Waldmünchen and Furth im Wald, Bavarian Forest, Germany in December 2007.
