Dextro.org video 21_063, 720p HD, 2003-2014.
Video_21 started as an experiment with code in 2003. A mathematically unstable situation was created and varied through only one parameter, whose numerical value grew linearly.
In 2012 sound was added in a way that would make it suitable for a competition by German/French TV-station ARTE, the theme of which being the end of an old and the beginning of a new circle of the world on December 2012 according to the Maya calendar. Since many people saw in it a possible end of the world, the aim was to make the sound express increasing tension, held for a moment at its climax, and followed by relaxation as it becomes obvious that life goes on, yet not necessarily in the same way.
The video reached second place by public voting.
Sound edited with the help of Constantin Zeileissen of Microthol (microthol.com). Samples used: The Beatles' "Day in the Life", Suzukiski's "When Birds Gone" (Soup Disk).
Rendered with Macromedia Director in 2003, and again with Processing in 2014.
