Lidia Scalzo attended the Art Institute in Rome. After a number of working experiences, she decided to open up her own laboratory where she could put into practice the experiences obtained in the artistic field. She continued to gain experience in various directions: the continued search for expression led Lidia to a constant evolution, searching for new materials from which new forms and new objects could be obtained. The “lucky” encounter with the plasters and resins, used in the field of interior decorations, occurred only during these last recent years. Lidia used them to paint large surfaces (walls, doors, counters and floors) covered with plaster, accurately applied, depending on the need required by the decoration, by workers in collaboration with the Laboratory.
Il PAPIRO ART is a place where art is produced and is composed of individuals whose desire goes way beyond the production of objects and whose common will is to work and create together.
The illustrated handicraft productions go beyond pure functionality; they are proposed as having artistic value; the aesthetic aspect is given much consideration and has, as far as every product is concerned, a common line linked to a certain feeling or emotion; there is a sense of continuity in the search for sinuous forms which often remind us of the elements of nature and, where possible, of chromatic matching which stimulate our fantasy.
