community boost_r camp is a participant driven event which happened at the University of Sarajevo's Center for Interdisciplinary Postgraduate Studies on November 7-9 2013. The camp brought together over 150 participants from 5 Western Balkan countries (BiH, Croatia, Kosovo, Montenegro and Serbia). During two days of the camp we focused on DATA: how to use data in accountability work, strategies for corruption monitoring, open (government) data and how can ICTs help in advocacy efforts.
The camp was organized by Fundacja TechSoup (TechSoup Europe) and Zašto ne (BiH) in partnership with Dokukino (Serbia), IPKO Foundation (Kosovo) and thanks to support from the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation, the National Endowment for Democracy and the United States embassy in Sarajevo. It formed a part of a bigger project called community boost_r, which inspires, enables and promotes technologies for civic participation in transparency and accountability initatives. The event was a follow-up to the Balkan Challenges and last year's TechCamp.
