3,500 pounds of pot and 30 pounds of crystal meth are being unloaded this morning by the U.S. Coast Guard and U.S. Customs and Border Protection at Coast Guard Station San Diego this morning after 7:00 AM. The drugs along with four smugglers were caught in international waters about 170 miles southwest of San Diego last Friday, January 3rd. According to the Coast Guard a C-B-P air plane spotted the smugglers pulling bails out of the water. Why bails of illegal drugs would be floating 125 miles out to sea is one of the questions Walter Morris will be asking this morning on KSWB FOX5 when he is live at the off-loading.
Serving alcohol at the Denny's in San Diego's infamous party neighborhood of Pacific Beach is on the docket this morning at a hearing in San Diego’s downtown courthouse. The Denny's that wants a liquor license and a neighborhood group of several P.B. residents that don’t … will make their cases to a judge this morning at 9:30.

In Carlsbad at 1:00 PM the first year of construction of the Carlsbad Desalination Plant is being celebrated at the plant. It's expected to be all done by 2016.
