This video is part of continued experiments I've been doing with slit scan time distortion and dance performance. With this experiment I am playing with the effect of a looped video where the time distortion window becomes longer than the loop itself. This results in images where elements from every frame of the original video are contained within every frame of the distorted video. To achieve this I took a short clip of a single movement and looped it forward then reverse, repeating 5 times. I then applied my custom time distortion software to slowly increase the level of distortion throughout the first several loops, with a final window of more than 20 seconds containing each frame. After that the distortion becomes chaoatic, causing certain elements to freeze and snap ultimately ending again at a undistorted point.
