This video shares a snapshot of a full day of classes in Owatonna Junior High School's ESTEM 8 English class with their teacher Mrs. Kristin Warehime. Students debated a series of questions that explored the relationship between food choice and healthy diet in a modern society. Students had studied Michael Pollan's book "The Ominvore's Dilemma" in English, Social Studies, Science and Math classes as an integral component of STEM learning. During the debate, students were part of teams that communicated among members through the online website Today'sMeet as a back channel. Each student was able to use a tablet computer or iPad to provide support to their team mate during the fishbowl debate. This video shows a good example of how technology is fully integrated in an exemplary ESTEM lesson.
