Why do my brakes squeak and squeal?
#1 Brakes can squeak for a variety of reasons, but continuous squeals and grinding sounds may mean it's time for new brake pads and shoes.
#2 Worn brakes can mean longer stopping distances and difficulty stopping in emergency situations.
#3 Rotors and drums that are too thin may even become over-stressed and break.
#4 The vehicle pulls to one side when the brakes are applied.
#5 The brake pedal sinks to the floor when pressure is maintained.
#6 The ""brake"" light on the instrument panel is lit.
Remember, if you notice any of these symptoms it's a good idea to get your brakes checked.
