Daniela Goncalves and I decided to go out and compare three cameras, the Canon 5D Mark 3, 6D, and 5D Mark 2. We're not saying one is better than the other, or putting them down. We're simply seeing how each camera reacts in different situations. This was very quickly shot, and it's not a 100% true comparison. Of course after shooting, I realized that we left the 6D on the "Standard" Picture style. Stupid us! Either way, we concluded that the 6D handles color very differently than both of the 5Ds, and the Mark 2 is not as good in low-light situations as the newer cameras (as expected). All cameras were custom white balanced under the exact same conditions, and of course the settings were matched. All shot at 1080p at 24 frames per second, 1/50 shutter speed, equivalent ISO, and no ND filters. The 6D and 5D Mark 3 were set to All-I (Low Compression).
Lenses used were: Canon 16-35mm f/2.8 II L, Canon 100mm f/2.8L IS, and the Canon 50mm f/1.4.
The edit was cropped to 2.35:1 just because I wanted to try it out! I really like working in that aspect ratio so far. We used Premiere Pro CC to cut the footage. No color grading or correcting was done.
