I was lucky to be able to spend the last few months with my family in Colorado. The Christmas holidays in Colorado Springs brought lots of snow and ridiculously cold temperatures. And although I'm from the Pacific Northwest, I managed to suck it up a little and get out and shoot some video and photos of the area.
I didn't do as many timelapses as I would have liked. See note above about the ridiculously cold temperatures! But I still managed to capture enough to put together this little video.
My sister's family lives in the mountains and are deer literally right outside their door nearly everyday. They aren't shy about hanging around either. So I grabbed some amazing footage as they meandered around her backyard. What a thrill! I didn't include as many of those pics or clips in this video, but plan to do a short followup starring the friendly deer.
The music is "Into the Light" by Hugh Mitchell which I thought was not only an amazing piece of music, but it fit perfectly what I envisioned when I started cutting this together. You can find it here: audiojungle.net/item/into-the-light-/4157045)
I used my Nikon D7000 for all shots with the exception of the opening title shot. For that I used my GoPro Hero3. The Dynamic Perception Stage Zero ramp is one of my favorite tools to use. I had the chance a few times to get it out and take some shots. I used Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Lightroom and Photomatix Pro for my editing tools.
