My partner, Ewan Johnson, and I were responsible for designing the camera and stating of this film. This involved reinterpreting 2D storyboards into the sets and scenarios in the CG world, and working closely with directors John Lasseter and Lee Unkrich as well as the camera crew to design and execute the shots, staging, camera angles, lenses, and camera movement. Toy Story 2 broke significant ground in terms of its editorial sophistication, which we supported by shooting additional footage to give the editors more creative freedom and by refining footage in response to the editorial shape of each scene.
