For 20 years, Soleil Hepner worked in the fast-paced world of High-Tech. As one of the few women in management, she was under constant stress, which manifested as chronic back pain, migraines and a bout with cancer. Burned-out, in 2001, Soleil left High-Tech for High-Touch, finding life-changing results for her and her clients in the Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy (PRYT), somatic approach. Soleil has been on PRYT faculty since 2005, supervising and training new practitioners.

We know that body language can affect others, but many people forget that body language can actually change one's own mind and feelings. Soleil discusses the importance of meditation and yoga in therapy. She also discusses the eight limbs of yoga: Yama, Niyama, Asana, Pranayama, Pratyahara, Dharana, Dyana, and Samadhi. The PRYT does not teach yoga in the way most people imagine yoga. Instead, this approach focuses on the self study approach of yoga, although it does use some of the poses and other aspects of popular yoga classes. The three essential elements that she describes for PRYT are awareness, acceptance, and action. Each of these has further elements as well, as she details in her discussion. She also teaches some of the steps and movements involved in the process.
