Industry: NASCAR Racing Team
Product: Ceiling Mounted Bridge Crane
The Problem: Need for more floor space and better handling of car templates.
The Solution: Gorbel Ceiling Mounted Bridge Crane
Read the Entire Story: When Stewart Haas Racing added another car to its team, they found that floor space became a premium in their facility. Using gantry cranes to maneuver their car templates was no longer convenient or easy. They found that using a Gorbel Ceiling mounted Workstation Crane to lift and lower their NASCAR certified body templates solved their problem.
When a new race car is constructed, rebuilt, or repaired after a race, the cars must conform to the design on the body template. It’s not uncommon for Stewart Haas to raise and lower a template onto a new body over 100 times prior to the car being completed.
The Gorbel Work Station Crane gave them the flexibility to use one template to cover multiple work cells (templates cost $11,000 each), instead of having to move the car to where the templates are located. It also gave them superior control to position the template very carefully and avoid damage to the cars or templates.
