Subtle Subtitles was an experimental workshop in May 2023 with students from MA Interior and Spatial Design at Camberwell College of Arts, University of the Arts London.
Online teaching and remote learning has necessitated pluralism in the use of moving-image and film media to communicate ideas and processes. Working with students from across the globe, this in studio session explored the architecture of onomatopoeic subtitles and audio-description in film space to question forms of practice.
The silence background references an improvised wind-bell from the ILEA Collection remotely sensed by Colin Priest as a part of in-heritage group, a multi-disciplinary community of practice expanding boundaries of heritage objects, sites and settings.
