Are you interested in the arts/STEM connection? Do you wonder:
- How this alliance could be a strategy for achieving your institution’s goals
- How you could integrate art and artistic processes into your institution
The STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Math) movement is growing rapidly across the country in a variety of venues, including informals.
This webinar was an introductory look at the power and potential of an arts/STEM interface in museum settings. This free webinar will feature one of the pioneers of this movement, Peter Richards. As the Exploratorium’s Arts Program Director for over 25 years and later as Senior Artist, he was instrumental in the development of the Exploratorium’s arts/STEM interface.
He shared the importance of this connection, how it was integrated into the museum culture, and the benefits he sees from this intersection. He also talked about integrating artists into a science museum culture and the potential for successful collaborations between artists and scientists. His presentation was followed by a valuable question-and-answer period.
