This was shot with the Sankor 2X anamorphic adapter attached to the front of a Canon 200mm f/3.5 FL lens on a 5D Mk II using an adapter. The close-ups at the beginning show just the anamorphic and lens combo using a glassless adapter. The last shot used a photodiox EOS-FD adapter with a glass element that enables infinity focus. If was also shot at ISO 12,800.
The anamorphic adapter has to be removed each time the lens is focused or it is impossible to tell if anything is in focus. Then the adapter must be screwed onto the lens and focused before shooting begins. No rack focus possible. It is also necessary to shoot at around f/11 or the aberrations are so intense that everything looks out of focus. I tried the adapter on a 50mm f/1.4 EF lens, and there was extremely heavy vignetting and a bit of a porthole effect. This is definitely not about ultimate sharpness, but I think it has some interesting character. I love the extra-wide scope of the 2X image!
