In 2013 fifteen designers followed a three-month course on service design organised by The Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice, Poland and run by PDR in Cardiff, UK. During the last workshop in the Welsh design centre, PDR, three of the participants were then chosen to run three service design projects with three public service institutions in Katowice. Three public service institutions ready to re-design their services were also chosen through competition.
This video shows how the Silesian Centre of Information Society with designers began to make their services more useful and useful for citizens across the region. This service design project centred around ORSIP, an open spatial and mapping information system for public officials and members of the public, and how to gather data more effectively.
