This sharing was the culmination of 4 days of research and development supported by the Arts Council of Wales and Aberystwyth Arts Centre.
With a visual narrative style and poetic text Arth (meaning bear in Welsh) tells a birth story and the transformative power of motherhood. It explores how ritual helps to understand and process our experiences and our relationship with the non human world.
Arth is a collaborative work. The artists involved include Welsh poet Susan Richardson, Aberystwyth Arts Centre’s Gill Ogden, and director Rachel Porter from Ghent, Belgium. A mini choir of local volunteers was formed led by Brighton based voice specialist Ben Macfadyen.
