This is a film speaks to what skateboarding is like for most of its constituents. It's a personal exploration of the self and the environment. There are plenty of skateboarding films and "videos" that focus on the achievement of singular tricks, runs, styles, skaters, but this very short film aims to capture the feeling of being a skateboarder and all of the mystery it holds and the thirst that skateboarders have for such mysteries. Jesse Hammer killed it for this and pretty much at a moment's notice was down to roll. Keith Grant made a sweet score with a guitar track that is incredibly well suited to the feeling and emotion I want to convey with "American Wonder." Big thanks to both of them. I shot this on Kodak Tri-X with a Canon 814 XL Super 8 camera with a wide angle conversion lens, shooting at 9 and 18 frames per second for effect.
