At one level, this video-poem is a journey/derive through a market which was filmed one morning at Piegut in SW France. The frames switch between monochrome and colour; a metaphor for finding and losing; living and parting. It also references and has the pace of the poem "losing you", by the filmmaker. This glimpse of what might be best described as our existential death is followed by lines from John Donne, which seems to make the film complete.
losing you
from darkness into
shade and light
we met where
boundaries merge
to negative space
among the familiar
inevitabilities dwell here
pass as rhythm
greeting, crossing
touching, parting
processional order
ordained and fleeting
echoes of impossibility
shadows we are
attracting shadow
colouring days
take my picture
losing you is like losing you
