During a recent trip to Detroit for the 2014 North American International Auto Show, I decided to bring my DSLRPros DJI Phantom and try to capture footage of Detroit from the air. I quickly learned that the weather was going to be my enemy.

The week prior to arriving in Detroit, a "Polar Vortex" affected most of the country, dropping to negative temperatures. This week, it had warmed up, but still, with windchill, the temperature was around 15 degrees. The water was still frozen, and the wind was blowing hard with 25mph gusts, oh, and it started to snow our last day. Nonetheless, I managed to grab footage of Michigan Central Station, The Packard Plant, Comerica Park, Fox Theater, The Detroit Boat Club and Jefferson Beach Marina.
