Steve Redmond is a champion long-distance swimmer who lives in the small village of Ballydehob, West Cork in Ireland. He was the first person to complete the Oceans Seven challenge facing down competition from well-funded international swimmers. Steve holds down a day job and after work puts in hours of training in local Lough Hyne.
He was also the first person to swim around treacherous Fastnet Rock, a small island in the Atlantic Ocean and the most southerly point of Ireland. This is a record of that nearly 25 mile swim.
