The film takes place predominately in the town of La Union and is the backdrop for “The song of mine". However the real story lies in the Fernández family. They are gypsies who have flamenco in their blood. This family includes several members who have won the “Lámpara Minera” award. It’s one of the most prestigious singing awards for flamenco cantaores. The director portraits two of the family members who are the official festival guitarists and how they are creating new flamenco fusion in a show called “Flamenco Roots” with dancers and musicians from Rajasthan and Spain. The result is spectacular.
