The ladder bridge on the way to Black Bear Trail is barely wider than a trike, but gives the rider a unique perspective on the pond below with closeup views both over the edge and between the rungs. This bridge is another hidden gem in 35 mile maze of trails in and around the Black Diamond Natural Area. Access begins with a short connector to a rail trail, which in turn links to dozens of interesting side trails. Those trails challenge you with roots, rocks, and steep grades, but the rewards are well worth it. Keep going and you end up at Lake Sawyer; wander upstream among the ponds and wetlands and you will come to Ravensdale Lake.
